Mount Baruntse Expedition

Mount Baruntse Expedition

During the middle of 1954 may 30th, mount Baruntse was ascended by Coil Todd and Geoff Harrow. It is at the height of 7129m in between on the top of 8848m and Makalu 8463m via south-east ridge, since then many climbers have used this route ant they got success. Because of being straight forward hard way it is bit difficult to climb, there are hard sections of 50% degrees elevation with a prominent ice cliff to be climbed facing the risk of avalanche. Most climbers prefer the best season for safety is in spring, some climbers have reached on its top in autumn season as well.
According to the scheduled itinerary of Ramdung Expedition starts Ktm-Lukla flight, and approximately 11 days trekking on foot to Baruntse Base camp, then via the same route on their way back toKathmandu. The five lakes (Panch Pokhari) lie nearby with the height of 5200m which is regarded as a holy place and is worshipped here by devotees of Hindu & Buddhist religions as they have fath to goddess five sisters. The Baruntse has been climbed through Arun valley to Makalu Base Camp too.
